Having
won their first three games and conceding only
one
goal, Hassocks were confident of making it
three
wins on the trot.
Again they dominated play and achieved their
third
clean sheet in three league games. Unfortunately
they could not turn their dominance into
goals as a hard working East Grinstead
defence made it a very tough game.
Hassocks
best chance fell to Robbie Kitchen when a
clever Nathan Miles pass put him clear
but the goalie saved well.
Twice
East Grinstead cleared off the line
when Dicky Fernley corners caused all kinds
of problems.
The same pattern followed in the second half again
Hassocks best chances came from corners.
Steve Spies with a near post run, headed
just wide and at the 'death' Ian Church rose
high but was unable to keep the ball below
the crossbar.
Although
frustrated with a 0-0 draw, Hassocks were
pleased to keep another clean sheet as Jason
Gander (youth team goal keeper) had a fine
game as did the other Youth teamers.
Tom
Barnes made his full debut in the centre of
midfield and Jamie Hillwood and Nathan Miles
continued to impress the Hassocks
management team. Three games gone and joint top
with seven points
