ROBINS
OUTCLASSED BY LEAGUE LEADERS
Old
Varndeanians 3-0 Hassocks
If there was any
team in this division who are better at playing
football, then I don't think I have seen
one.
On a glorious
pitch with a great surface Old Varndeanians
tormented Hassocks 3rds and deservedly won
3-0.
It could have
been a lot more if Old V's had not missed so
many chances especially in the 1st half as
Hassocks found it difficult just to get hold of
the ball and keep it.
With all of Old
V's team very comfortable in possession they
passed the ball around like it was a 5 aside
game with lots of pass and movement and not
giving the ball away.
This is the
instructions we give out every week but its not
always easy in practice but there again Old V's
were superb at it.
The facts are
simply we were down 2-0 at half time and they
got a third after just 10 minutes of the 2nd
half.
We probably
failed to get a shot on target and had very
little of the ball.
After 2 very good
victories this was disappointing for Hassocks
but there again - credit to Old V's who were
excellent and give us something to aspire
to.
This week we are
at home to Newick on Monday and look to forward
to a better performance!
