A
very lacklustre performance saw
Hassocks lose to a last minute
goal at Hartfield. Arriving 1 hour
before the game to find no one
else at Hartfield was a bit
surreal and when Hassocks started
the game going uphill they had to
avoid the molehills and to make
progress on the Hartfield
goal.
Hartfield
did cause Hassocks a few problems
and Gander had to make a couple of
saves but many efforts went over
the bar.
The
only threat from Hassocks was when
Pitcher got down the right hand
side and found Miles whose shot
was saved.
In
the 2nd half going downhill
Hassocks once again dominated
possession but found he Hartfield
keeper in great form especially
when Hillwood cross found
Kublickas at the back post and his
text book downward header was
superbly saved.
In
an attempt to put more pressure on
the Hartfield goal Spies was moved
forward and his presence found
Miles whose shot hit the inside of
the post and Pitcher was unable to
convert the rebound.
In
the remaining few minutes
Hartfield won a debatable free
kick and the incoming cross was
not cleared and as the 2nd ball
came in it fell for the Hartfield
keeper to convert and give
Hartfield 3 points.
Hassocks
were very disappointed with their
1st half performance and after a
good start to the season are now
falling behind in the championship
race!
