ROBINS
RUN UP BIG SCORE AGAIN
Hassocks
6-1 Worthing United
Hassocks
had a stronger line up for the league
game versus Worthing United and the result was
never in doubt but the home side were made to
work hard by their visitors and perhaps the
score line didn't truly reflect the game.
Hassocks
struggled in the first half, but a
"Hoddle" chip from Mark Sheriff
put them one up before keeper Phil Wickwar made a brilliant double save to
keep Hassocks one up but was powerless
to stop a great strike after some woeful
defending.
Sheriff the turned predator to sniff out
a bad back pass to slot into the empty
net to send the Robins in 2-1 up at half
time.
The
second half saw Hassocks improve and
skipper Dicky Fernley finished off a great
team move with a grass cutter fizzing into
the bottom corner.
Lee Cooke added a 4th with a typical
finish before Sheriff bagged his hat-trick with
another "chip", and Graham Beveridge
opened his account with a shot from
distance which my Mum would of
saved.
In
the end Worthing were run into the
ground and couldn't keep up their first
half effort and it could have been more but a
good performance none the less.
