ROBINS
BREEZE PAST TICEHURST
Hassocks
7-1 Ticehurst
Hassocks
romped home in the intermediate cup
against there East Sussex Premier League
opponents!
Goals
from Jacques 2 Cooke 2 Robinson Thompson
and Harvey made for a comfortable win
against Ticehurst.
Hassocks
missing Husbands due to injury meant
that Wickwar came into the defence and
they were also boosted by the returning
Turner and Thompson.
Hassocks
controlled the game throughout keeping
the ball well and dominating the half, a
goal from the evergreen Cooke after 15
mins set hassocks on there way! Also
Thompson (released from girlfriend
duties) smashed in a great finish from
the left after some great build
up!
Hassocks
2 nil up at half time but joint manager
Jewell felt his side could do more and
they responded well!
Another
goal apiece from Jacques and Cooke
sealed the win! Cooke and Jacques were
rampant at this time and after Cooke
being unselfish several times for
Jacques who couldn't quite get his
hat-trick with 5 real chances!
He
was hauled for Robinson who soon showed
him how easy it was with a neat finish!!
Harvey replaced the injured Fernley who
raved down the right and finished with
aplomb! In all fairness to Ticehurst
they never gave in and Simpson tipped
over a free kick when most of the
defence though a catch was in order! To
be fair he was probably very cold by the
time he was called into action!
Ticehurst
got their consolation goal they deserved
for their effort's when Simpson,
Ternouth and Simpson junior got
themselves in a right state following a
short goal kick and the forward finished
from the angle despite the best efforts
of Wickwar!
Hassocks
have a big month or so coming up and
Wickwar and Jewell are happy how things
have gone! But now the real tests are
coming!
