Following
a detailed discussion between chairman Derek Hurley
and joint manager John Suter, Hassocks Football Club
and John Suter have parted company.
The
Club has been concerned for some weeks at the lack of
progress on the pitch, both in terms of team results
and player performances. These concerns have been
reflected too in comments from the Club management
committee and members.
Whilst
a number of experienced players joined the Club at the
start of the season, the anticipated progression has
not been forthcoming and as the League Table
indicates, the Club is in a very poor position. Player
morale was visibly dropping and the Club felt that a
change needed to be made sooner rather than
later.
Despite
'sharing' management responsibilities with Mickey
Jewell, John had taken the lead role and reluctantly
the Club decided to sever the appointment. Rumours
abound that John Suter has another appointment lined
up, and that the players he brought to the club are
likely to seek to rejoin him over the next few weeks.
In the short-term, Dave John will take control of the
Hassocks first team with Mickey Jewell acting as his
assistant

Saturdays
FA Cup tie against Shoreham will NOT
be
held at The Beacon due to problems with the newly laid
pitch. The extra rainfall we have been experiencing
has caused the sand slits (tram lines) in the pitch to
drop, meaning they require extra filling in. The club
is asking for as many people as possible to come to
The Beacon on Saturday morning between 9.30am and
midday to help fill in the slits
Meanwhile,
arrangements are currently being made over the
possibility of switching the game to Shoreham FC. Once
a decision has been taken, an announcement will be
