hassocks football
club - info
Hassocks
currently run four senior teams, along with an Under 18 side,
and also two ladies teams. There is also a thriving Junior section,
with teams running from under 9’s up to under 16.
The first team
compete in Sussex County League Division One, and also enter the
National Cup competitions of the FA Cup and the FA Vase. The
reserve team plays in the Premier Division of the Sussex County
Reserves League, and are one of the longest serving clubs. The
third team play in the Mid Sussex League Premier Division, and
are one of the highest placed third sides in the country. The
veterans team also compete in the Mid Sussex League, in their
veterans section. The Under 18's side play in the Central
Division of the Sussex County Youth League, and many of the
players who now represent the three senior sides began their
Hassocks careers in the youth team. The ladies ply their trade
in the South East Counties Women's Football League
Hassocks play
their home games at The Beacon, a smart little ground on the
outskirts of the village that is deemed to have suitable
facilities to play host to representative and cup games. There
are plans to develop the facilities further in order to continue
to enhance the role that the club plays in the community, and to
turn The Beacon into a centre of footballing excellence for Mid
Sussex.
All three
sections of the club - the seniors, the juniors and the ladies -
have together become an FA Charter Standard Community Club.
