SLAUGHTER
DISMISSAL PROVES COSTLY
Hassocks
2-2 Arundel
Robins boss Dave
John had no complaints about the dismissal of
combative midfielder Spencer Slaughter for a
second bookable offence even though it cost his
side dearly.
They surrendered
a 2-0 half-time lead at the Beacon on Saturday
against a new-look Mullets side who had to play
second fiddle for the whole of the first half.
Anthony Hibbert
opened the scoring from the penalty spot and
Neil Kane grabbed a well taken effort, Both
players were scoring for the second match
running.
Before that
Hibbert had hit the bar with a free kick but the
visitors were also denied by the woodwork.
Slaughter was sent off before the hour mark and
John admitted that in the hot conditions, being
a man short took its toll.
The Arundel goals
came in a five-minute spell around midway
through, with Dan Towers scoring the first and
then Josh Biggs heading the equaliser. John felt
his side had chances to grab a third that would
probably have killed off the game.
